(3)Justin DeLong pitched a 1 hitter with 11 strikeoutsHeath Johnson and
Mike Alexander each had 2 hits with 1 RBI and a run scored.
Sussex East Warriors - Post 28 - 21, Milford Red Sox - Post 3 - 1: With a mix ofpitchers Post 3 tried to stay in the game against a good
hitting squad from Post 28. Post 28 scored 5 runs across the first 6
innings with the help of a 2 run home run in the 3rd. The Red Sox of
Post 3 tried to get something going but only managed to scatter 6 hits
and score once in the 4th inning.
The Red Sox ran into pitching
trouble in the 7th inning and the hard hitting team from Post 28 took
control with a relentless assult and ralleyed for an extra 16 runs.

Wednesday night's game between Fox Post 2 and Post 17 was postponed due to weather.
Tuesday's (6/8) Games
Middletown - 14, R.C. DuPont Aviators - 1: Middletown's, Chad Kuhl goes 3-4 with a two run homerun. Ryan Haas goes 2-3
with a two run home run and Ermal is the winnning pitcher
Great defense in the outfield from R.C. Dupont's Danny Kotula, Danny Shea was the losing pitcher
Delvets- 9 Stahl Post - 3: Connor Mchugh pitched a complete game giving up 7 hits and striking
out 3 in picking up the win.
Delvets bats were led by Greg Miraglia and
Kyle Menhaca who both had 2 hits. Matt Domian tripled and scored 2
runs for Delvets. Jarad Carney and Mike Aleixo also scored 2 runs for
Delvets.
Mike Alexander had a double for Stahl and Brendan Fallers was
2-2 with a double 2 walks and 2 runs scored for Stahl Post.
Fox Post 2 - 18, Post 6 Patriots - 6: Fox Post got off to
a quick start, putting up 2 runs on the Patriot's Eric Scharff, but the
Pats came back with 4 runs of their own. The game was close until the
6th inning, when pitching struggles let Fox pound out 5 runs, followed
by another 4 in the 7th.
Highlights for Fox: Tommy Dill slammed a 2 run homer over the left
field fence. Aaron Queen tripled, and Kevin O'shea and Danny Gatto
doubled. Bobby Brown allowed 6 hits early, kept the Pats off the
scoreboard after the 4th and got the win. Danny Gatto pitched the final
inning for Fox.
For the Patriots, Tyler Troyer continued to slam the ball, with an RBI
double in the game. Eric Scharff only lasted 3 innings. Both teams
turned early double plays, but the Pats eventually committed 7 errors.
Dylan Shockley batted 2 for 3 with an RBI, Chad Sturgeon batted 1 for 2
with 2 RBI's.
Game between Milford and Post 17 has been rescheduled to Friday, June 11 due to Cape Henlopen HS Graduation.

Sunday's Games:
The
weekend finished with fireworks in the sky and on the field as VFW 3420
played Post 17 at Cape Henlopen HS. The VFW continued their winning
ways, rolling over the new guys before severe thunderstorms rolled
through lower Delaware.
Game 1: VFW 3420 - 22, Post 17 - 10 (5)
Game 2: Game suspended due to lightning in the area in the top of the 5th, and will be continued in July if needed.

Saturday's (6/5) Games:
Nanticoke Post 6 at Stahl Post 30:
Stahl Post 30 (2-1) and the Post 6 Patriots (1-1) split a doubleheader at Wilson Field, New Castle, DE Saturday afternoon.
Game 1: In the first game, Casey Zitvogel (1-0) held the Stahl bats at bay
until the bottom of the 7th, striking out 11 and allowing just 4 hits.
Tyler Fortuna pitched a 4 hitter, but a very uncharacteristic 7 errors
by Stahl fielders allowed Post 6 to score 3 in the first inning.
Brendan and James Fallers both doubled for Post 30, Adam Troyer doubled
for Post 6, batting 2 for 4. Post 6 won it 3-1.
Game 2: In the 2nd game, Stahl led early, but gave up 3 runs to Post 6 in the
4th inning on Adam and Tyler Troyer's back to back doubles, followed by
Joey Patrone's triple. Patrone scored on Zitvogel's RBI single and Post
6 had the lead.
Stahl tied the game on Heath Johnson's steal home in the 5th, and won
the game in the 6th when James Fallers drove home C.J. Craft with the
final run of the game. Post 6 tried to mount a 2 out ralley in the 7th,
but Craft grabbed a ball hit to 3rd and tagged the bag to force the 3rd
out. Sthhl won the game 4-3.
Brendan Fallers and Mike Alexander both doubled for Stahl. Kagan Yossan
joined Joey Patrone in hitting triples for Post 6. The Troyer's back to back
doubles were the only other extra base hits in the game. Hunter Absher (0-1) took
the loss for Post 6, Dan Kulesza got the win in relief.
Sussex East Warriors at Post 10 Newark:
Game 1: Post 28 - 12, Newark Post 10 - 9 - game went 9 innings
Game 2: Post 28 - 7, Newark Post 10 - 12
Post 28's Matt Eskridge had 2 homers up at Newark today.
VFW Post 3420 at Post 3 Milford Red Sox:
Game 1: VFW 3420 - 12, Post 3 Milford - 6
Game 2: VFW 3420 - 16, Post 3 Milford - 4
R.C. DuPont Post 18 Aviators - 6, Delvets Post 1 - 4:
Jarad Carney and BJ Suiter were in a pitchers duel through 5 innings where hits and runs were hard to come by.
With the bases loaded and the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 5th,
Kip Skibiki came in for RC Dupont and struck out 2 hitters to halt the
Delvets rally. With the score still tied 3-3 in the top of the seventh
RC Dupont got a leadoff single from Greg Rostick. after a stolen base
and a groundout Delvets intentionally walked Andrew Cooper. With 1 out
and a 0-2 count pinch hitter Dan Kotula came through with an RBI single
for a 4-3 RC lead.
RC tacked on 2 more off relief pitcher Tyler Clark. Delvets added 1 in
the bottom of the 7th but couldn't come all the way back. Kip Skibiki
got the win for RC while Tyler Clark took the tough luck loss. Andrew
Cooper had a triple for RC and Jack Donnely was 2-2. For Delvets Jarad
Carney had 2 hits and 2 rbi's and Jimmy Vachris had a double.
Thursday's [6/3] Games:
VFW Post 3420 - 5, Post 25 Middletown 1:
Chris Bianchino smacked a two-run RBI
double for VFW to capture the initial lead. VFW then capitalized on three fielding
errors by Post 25, and put up three more runs to keep the score out of reach.
Dylan Oakes and Dennis Masseri combined for 13
strikeouts to keep Post 25’s offense at bay. Frank Samluk hit a solo
homer for Post 25 in his first American Legion game appearance, and Ryan Haas
struck out nine batters. The game marked Marvin Dooley's return to the dugout as the VFW 3420 manager.
Stahl Post 30 - 9, Post 10 Newark - 3:
Justin DeLong picked up the win for Stahl allowing 1 run on 3 hits
through five innings with help from Lopez and Kuleza who helped combine
for a five hitter. Stahl scored five earned runs off Newark starter
Derek Marshallsea who pitched 6 innings and gave up 7 runs on 10 hits.
Adam Pugh came in for Newark in relief in the seventh. Stahl broke open
a 5-3 game with 4 runs in the top of the 7th. Mike Alexander and CJ
Craft both doubled for Stahl. Ryan Vietri tripled and scored for
Newark. Kyle Hayman and Anthony Kaiser both doubled for Newark.
Delaware Post 1- 12, Delvets Post 1 - 10:
Both teams bats came out, but Delvets' defense struggled.
Post 28 Warriors - 9, Spooner Post 17 - 0:
Jesse Swanson pitched the shutout, altho it took until the 6th inning
to score big on Post 17. The game was the first ever for Spooner Post,
Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 3, Post 6 Patriots - 0(Susp Bot 4th - Lightning)
Milford scored 3 times in the first inning, as Post 6 pitcher Chad
Sturgeon struggled for control. 3 first inning walks turned into 3
runs, but Sturgeon found the strike zone and Milford hit into a double
play, as Post 6's fielding saved the day.
Meanwhile, Milford's Whalen Hunter was shutting out the Patriots'
allowing only 1 hit (Tyler Troyer) and pitching out of a 2 out, bases
loaded situation in the 2nd inning - Short Stop Corey Smith grabbed the
line drive to end the threat.
Lightning in the area forced a postponement of the game with one out in the
bottom of the 4th inning. The game will continue the next time the 2
teams meet in Seaford.
