Thursday's Games [7/17]
Fox Post 2 - 12, Post 6 Patriots - 0: (Seaford HS) Fox Post 2 scored 7 runs in the top of the 7th inning, then added 3
more in the 2nd to take a 10 run lead after 2 innings in a game at
Seaford tonight. Jon Lust capped the scoring with a 2 run homer over the right field wall in the top of 5th.
Joe Diana pitched a one hitter, with one strikeout. He faced only 15
batters in the game. Trent Passwaters had the Patriot's only hit.
Danny Gatto doubled for Post 2,and Jon Lust hit a two run home
run. In all, 8 players scored for Fox Post 2 - Danny Gatto batted 2
for 3, Joey Babuca had 3 RBIs in the game. The win solidified Fox Post
2's hold on the Southern Division Championship.
R. C. Dupont Post 18 - 8, Newark 2: (Brandywine HS) Mike Matthews pitched an 80 pitch, 4 hitter with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts (allowing 1 earned run) to shutdown Newark 8 to 2.
Brian Manalo had 3 hits 2 run scored and 1 RBI for the Aviators.
Kyle Podgajny also had 2 hits, 1 run and an RBI. R.C. played great
defense and Matthews kept the hard hitting Newark offense off balance
at the plate. Post 18 Catcher B.J. Suiter called and caught a
great game and is also credited with 2 runs scored and 1 hit on the
night. Kyle Podgajny had 7 assists at short. The R.C. DuPont team as a unit
played a stellar defense.
Delvets - 6, Stahl Post 30 - 3: (Wilson Field) Delvets scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning to beat Stahl
Post 30. Mike Godwin had the game winning RBI double and earned the win on the mound
Stahl
Post had taken a 3-1 lead entering the 7th. Stahl pitcher Gabe
Deascanis then entered the game and walked the first 3 hitters. He was
replaced by Brian Perkins who came in and issued a bases loaded walk to
make it 3-2. Jon Bacher than hit a Sac Fly
to tie the game.
Mike Godwin followed with a 2-run double to give Delvets a 5-3 lead.
Mike Reardon singled in another run to end the scoring at 5 for the
inning. Godwin finished off the bottom of the 7th on the mound for the
complete game and to improve his record to (5-0). Jon Bacher had 2 hits
for Delvets and Mike Godwin and Kevin Hopkins had doubles. D.J. Wood
had 2 hits for Stahl Post.
Starter Justin DeLong had pitched a great 6 innings for Stahl keeping
Delvets off balance and only giving up 1 run over those innings.
VFW 3420 - 15, Oak Grove Thunder 10: (Stanton MS) VFW 3420 Christiana came back from a two run deficit in the top
of the sixth scoring seven runs for the win in a game that was halted after 6 innings due to darkness.
Four players from each team had
multi-hit games, including VFW's Chris Bianchino who went 4-5 which included a two run
homer, and Kyle Richter went 3-4 with a RBI double and scored 3 runs. Tony Diorio
and Steve Miller both had two hits.
Oak Grove's Ray Martinez, Cory Tierney,
Tim Szymanski had two hit each. Sam Manelski had two hits including a solo
HR and a triple. John Longo added a double. Oak Grove Starter Matt Joyce Had 8 strike
outs.
Post 28 Warriors 11, Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 1: (Indian River HS) Luis Barrientos had two home runs and 8
RBI's for Post 28, D.J. Long with two doubles. C.J. Bell and Cam Travalini with each two
hits.Adam Darling led Post 3 with two hits.

Games Played Tuesday, July 15th:
Post 6 Patriots - 1, Post 28 Warriors - 0: (Seaford HS, Indian River HS) Zach Adkins and Korey Hearn combined on a 4 hit shutout of the
powerful Post 28 Warriors in a game started on July 8th and suspended
in the 6th due to darkness. Adkins had held the Warriors to just 4 hits
in 5 innings, although Sean Lecates and C.J. Bell both doubled. The
Warriors also turned two double plays in 6 innings in the field. Matt
Parker drove in the only run, Steve Sharff in the bottom of the 4th.
Post 28 did make it interesting when Mike Casale led off the top of the
7th with a walk, but he was caught stealing for the 2nd out after D.J.
Long popped out to the first baseman, Trent Passwaters. Hearn then
struck out Sean Sockriter to clinch the save.
Post 6 Patriots 2, Post 28 Warriors - 0: (Indian River HS) Korey Hearn picked up where he left off after saving the discontinued
game with Post 28, by pitching 5 innings of shutout ball, scattering 3
hits, and striking out 6. Zach Adkins got the save allowing just 2 hits
and striking out 2. Cam Travalini allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and struck
out 7 in the game.
Post 6 got to Travalini in the 2nd inning as he struggled with control early in the inning,
walking both Steve and Eric Sharff back to back. T.J. Wisseman ran for
Eric Sharff and Trent Passwaters tapped a single to load the bases.
Dustin Richards hit the ball to short, setting up a double play, but
Steve Sharff scored for the Patriots 1st run.
In the 4th inning, Matt Parker singled, and stole 2nd. Steve Sharff
singled to center driving in Parker for the Patriots' second run. Post
28 turned their 2nd double play to end the inning, killing the Patriot
ralley.
C.J. Bell doubled for Post 28, Steve Sharff for Post 6.
Newark - 13, VFW Post 3420 - 8: (St.
Mark's HS) Mike Johnson struggled in his start for Newark allowing four
runs on four hits. Derek Marshallsea came in with two outs in the
second and pitched five and a third innings for the win. Tyler Husfelt,
Alex Woods and Bill Morton each drove in a pair of runs.
Newark exploded in the bottom of the fourth sending 13 batters to the
plate and scoring seven runs to bust open a close game. Marshallsea was
helped by some strong defense by Tyler Husfelt at shortstop and Andrew
Bentley at first base, both made tough plays to help shut down
Christiana rallies.
Tyler Miles led Christiana going three for three and scoring three runs and Steve Miller went three for five at the plate.
R.C. Dupont Post 18 Aviators - 10, Oak Grove Thunder - 7: (Stanton MS) Kyle Podgajny was the winning pitcher with 3 innings of
stellar relief fromChris Dischert. Podganjy hit a 2 run homer. Greg Rostick had 2 hits for the victors with 2 RBIs.
Sam Malenelski hit a 3 run homer for Oak Grove.
Stahl Post 30 - 8, Post 25 Middletown Firehawks - 0: (Smyrna HS) Stahl Post
took advantage of two first inning errors committed by Post 25 and put three
runs on the board, then held the lead for the rest of the game. Vinnie Latham
pitched a two-hit shutout for Stahl Post, and Heath Johnson and D.J. Wood both
scored two runs each for Stahl Post, while Zach Fortuna had two RBI’s on
the night.
For Post 25, Dylan Doughty and Elliot Stein both singled.
Delvets - 11, DE Post 1 - 7: (McKean
HS) Post 1 stormed out of the gate with a Grand Slam by Kevin
Flannigan in the first and a 2-Run shot by Alex Riley in the second.
Delvets chipped away until exploding for 7 runs in the 5th led by
triples by Kevin Hopkins and Andrew Baczkowski. Post 1 managed another
run in the bottom of the 6th with a solo homerun by Bill Crowe.
Delvets was also led offensively by Curtis Wallace and Mike Reardon who
both had 2 hits a piece as did Hopkins and Baczkowski. Mike Reardon
pitched a complete game to improve his record to (6-0) on the season.
Randy Ewing took the loss for Post 1.
Fox Post 2 - 2, Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 2: (Wesley
College) Post 2 and Post 3 played to a tie in a game called after 8
innings due to darkness. Jordan Elliot pitched 7 K's allowing 13 hits
in 8 Innings for Milford. He also scored 1 and drove in the other.
Danny Gatto struck out 10, and allowed 4 hits for Fox Post 2.
Joey Babuca doubled, droving in a run then scored on Jimmy Brittingham's RBI single. Babuca had 3 hits in the game.
Sunday's Games [7/13]:
Post 28 Warriors -10, VFW Post 3420 - 1 [Game 1]

DE Post 1- 4, R.C. Dupont Post 18 -2: (Brandywine HS) Alex Riley pitched a complete game allow 2 runs on 6 hits 3 k's.
Riley was 2 for 4, Ryan Hall was 2 for 4, Andrew Cini was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's.
Post One erased a 2 to 0 lead by the Aviators with a
3 run 6th inning and a 1 run 7th inning. Before the 6th, it was a
pitcher's dual between Andrew Cooper and Dian Thorpe of R.C. and Alex
Riley of Post 1 as the pitchers were able to scatter 8 hits in the game.
Post 1 made 6 really great plays which kept R.C. from
scoring runs. Shortstop Lougheed made 3 awesome plays and
Flannagen at 3rd base made a great play tagging out Chris
Dischertat third while being flat on the ground as he fielded the
ball. Men were on 2nd and 3rd and a ball hit in the hole forced
Flannagan to layout and as the ball was hit the runners were moving to
try to scored on what looked like a sure hit. He fielded it and
was able to tag Chris Dischert out as he was advancing to third ending
the inning with no runs scored.
Saturday's Games [7/12]
R.C. Dupont Post 18 - 19,
Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 16 [Game 1] - (Brandywine HS) A Saturday morning slugfest saw a Combined total of 33 hits
in the game.Will Stratton had to come in a save the game in the top of
the seventh as Milford scored 4 runs to tighten things up. Josh Campos and Tim Hopkins collected 7 hits between them,
with Campos getting 4 including a Homerun.
R.C. was led by Kip Skibicki and Brian Manalo. Kip had a 4 for 4
game with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. Manalo had 3hits and got on base
5 times and scored 5 runs with 1 RBI. The Kreshtool
brothers Michal and Andrew has key hits and RBI's in the victory.
R.C. Dupont Post 18 - 12,
Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 2 (5) [Game 2] (Brandywine HS)Will Stratton fired a 3 hitter with 9 strikeouts and
only 1 walk.He gave up only 1 earn run. T. Michaels collected a
double for Milford in the losing cause.
Dan Kowal and Kip Skibicki were the hitting stars. Kowal collect 2 hits and 3 runs scored and 1 rbi.
Kip Skibickihit 2 more homeruns on the season and collect 4 more hitsand 3 runs scored with 6 rbi's.
Skibicki also homered in a non-conference game with Boyertown Friday evening.He how has 7 homeruns on the season. He
went 8 for 8 on theday with 5 runs scored and 8 rbi's.

Johnson and Brandon Payne each had 3 runs scored. Brandon Payne and
Gabe DeAscanis each had 3 RBI's, Payne's coming on a 3-Run HR

Stahl Post 30 - 12, Newark - 5 [Game 2] (Wilson Field) 2B: Newark - Bill Martin, Bentley; Stahl - Gabe DeAscanis HR: Newark - Bill Martin
Gabe DeAscanis had 5 RBI's and Dave Martin 3 RBI's in the second game
win at Wilson Field. Brandon Payne and Heath Johnson each scored 3 runs
for Stahl while Bill Martin hit a 2- run HR for Newark
DE Post 1 - 5, Post 28 Warriors - 4 [Game 1]: (McKean
HS) Greg Howell pitched a complete game allowing 3 hits and 4 runs.
Alex Riley went 2 for 4 with a 3 run double in the 7th to seal the win.
Trevor Abbott went 7 innings for Post 28 allowing 5 runs on 5 hits.
DE Post 1 - 15, Post 28 Warriors - 13 [Game 2]: (McKean
HS) Alex Riley Went 3 for 5, Rob Nichalson was 2for 4, Chris Fols was 2
for 4, and Ryan Hall was 2 for 4 with a Grand Slam Home Runin the 4th
inning. Andrew Cini went 5 2/3 inning allowing 6 runs on 8 hits.
Fox Post 2 - 14, Oak Grove Thunder - 3 [Game 1]: (Stanton
MS) Fox Post 2 blasted 5 home runs in the game, including 3 run homers
Joey Babuca and John Lust. Danny Gatto hit a 2 run round tripper, and
his brother Tommy Gatto and Jimmy Brittingham had single homers.
Brittingham also tripled. Danny O'Shea pitched a 5 hitter to get the
win.
Fox Post 2 - 9, Oak Grove Thunder - 5 [Game 2]:(Stanton MS) Jon Lust continued his hot hitting with 2 more doubles. Greg McKee batted 2 for 4.
