Thursday's - 6/19 - Games
Shaking up the Standings a bit....
Delvets 7, Stahl Post 30 - 4: Delvets
was led by another great complete game effort by Mike Reardon who
improved to 2-0 on the year in front of the home crowd. At the plate Delvets bats were out early
and often lead by Harrison Grube 3-4, 2 triples and 4 RBI's. John
Bacher had 2 hits and 2 RBI's for Delvets and Mike Reardon and Mike
Godwin also had 2 hits.
Delvets is now 4-3, Stahl is 5-2
Post 28 - 9, Fox Post 2 - 4: Pete
Otto 2-2, with a Double & a triple. C J Bell and Cameron Travalini
batted 2-4 as the Post 28 bats came alive on the road in Dover, scoring 3 in the 4th, 4 in
the 5th and 2 more in the top of the 7th. For Post 2, Joey Babuca, Jon
Lust, Randy Hurd, Ronnie Rossi all doubled in a losing cause. Josh Lee
got the win for the Warriors. who win their first divisional game of
the season. Post 28 is now 3-5, Fox Post 2 is 4-3.
Post 6 Patriots - 12, Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 10: It was quite a
slugfest early, with 13 runs scored in the first two innings. The
fireworks included a John Micheal grand slam home run for the home team, Milford, and
some sloppy play in the field by Post 6.
But
Eric Sharff (1-1) took the mound in relief and held off the Milford
bats just enough to finish the game with a win. Johnny Micheal made it
interesting with a home run and double, batting 3 for 4, scoring 3 runs
with 5 RBI's. Leadoff batter Adam Darling batted 2 for 3, Jed Bell had
2 RBI's.
But the Post 6 bats continued to pound out the hits. When the game was
done, both teams had 12 hits, and a double and home run each, but Steve
Sharff had 5 RBIs and a run scored on 2 for 3 batting. All
told, 7 Patriots had hits on the night. Post 6 is now 3-4, Milford 3-5.
VFW 3420 - 7, Oak Grove Thunder - 4: VFW 3420 brought their
bats to Glasgow HS tonight. Wayne Leonard was 2 for 3 with a HR and 3
RBI's.
Jeramy Richardson was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI's.Chris Bianchino was 2 for 4
with an RBI, and on the mound Pete Roche, Josh Noonan, and Dave Hopkins
combined for 9 strikouts. Noonan got the win in relief.
Nick Ciafre had a solo HR for Oak Grove. The win advances VFW Post 3420 to 3-4, Oak Grove is now 2-5
Post 1 - 16, Post 25 - 2 (5): Post 1 held
Post 25 at bay with 12 hits, and by taking advantage of Post 25’s
seven fielding errors which helped them cross the plate 16 times. Despite the
brutal loss, Jay Croft (P25) threw seven strikeouts, and gave up four earned
runs on the evening. Post 25 begins a road trip beginning Saturday, and
returns for a home game at Everett Field in Smryna on July 1st.

Newark Post 10 - 9 , R.C. Dupont Post 18 Aviators - 4:
Errors marked this game as Post 18 scored 4 runs in the first inning on
3 hits and 5 errors. But Newark came back scoring in the first, 3 in
the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th inning on 10 hits and 4 RC
Errors.
Winning
Pitcher Bill Morton had 2 hits and pitched a 3 hitter with 5
strikeouts. Rob Mooney and Andrew Young each had 2 hits with
Young adding a 2 run homerun.
Tuesday's - 6/17 - Games:
Post 6 Patriots 8, Post 28 Warriors 7: Post 28 ran out of pitching after a really good effort from Stephen Walker fell short due to some power hitting by Post 6.

Once again, Eric
Sharff came to bat in the last inning with the bases loaded. This time
he stroked what would have been at least double to the 371 sign in left field, driving in the winning run.
Trailing 7-2 In the bottom of the 6th, Post 6 had to chip away at Post
28's lead. Dustin Richards doubled in James Smith then with 2 outs,
then Eric Sharff singled in Matt Parker and after Trent Passwaters was
hit by a pitch, Seth Hastings doubled to left to bring the score to
7-6. Chad Sturgeon's double to almost the same spot scored Hastings and
the game was tied.
In the bottom of the 7th, a lead off walk to Smith, a single by Richards, and a walk
by Steve Sharff loaded the bases for Eric Sharff's blast, winning the game.
C.J. Bell Doubled for Post 28, batting 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs. For the
Patriots, James Smith, Dustin Richards, Seth Hastings, Chad Sturgeon and
Garrett Eskridge all doubled. Eric Sharff was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and
one run scored. Dustin Richards batted 3 for 5.
The Patriots pounded out 14 hits, 6 of them doubles.
Fox Post 2 - 18, Post 3 Milford Redsox - 2 [5]: Post 2 scored 3 in the first, 5 in the 3rd and 8 in the fifth to beat Milford 18-2. For Milford, Matt Millman Doubled, Matt Faulkner homered & single, Denton Mow doubled. For Fox Post 2: Jimmy Brittingham hit 2 homers, Joey Babuca &Tony Gatto homered, Greg McKee & Jon Lust both Doubled
R.C. Dupont Post 18 - 13, Oak Grove Thunder - 2: The game had to be moved to Brandywine.
The hitting stars were Mike Matthews and Dane Thorpe as each collected 2 hits. Thorpe scored 1 run and knocked in 2.
Matthews scored 2 and knocked in one.
Kyle
Podgajny hit a towering grand slam to center field. The ball landed in
the yard beyond the outfield territory at a estimated 385
feet.
Stahl Post 30 - 11, Post 25 Middletown - 0: Stahl came roaring back from their loss Saturday to Middletown.
Stahl Post
30’s offense exploded in the second inning as they batted through the
order scoring six runs, including a three-run shot by Pat Riffel. Heath
Johnson hit a solo homer in the fourth inning to keep up the pressure against
Post 25. Stahl’s three pitchers combined their efforts over seven
innings to get the shutout against Post 25.
VFW 3420 - 10, Newark - 9 [10]: Yes that's right, 10 innings....
Pete Roche's double in the bottom of the 9th scored the winning run.
Dennis Massari was 2 for 4 with a homerun and 5 rbi's.
Tyler Miles
came on in relief to start the 5th inning to get the win striking out 5
and also had 2 rbi's. Kyle Richter was 2 for 3 with 2 rbi's and 2
walks. Andrew Young, Jordon Oncay, Alex Woods, and Mike Medori each
had 2 hits each for Newark.
Saturday's - 6/14 - Results:
Flag
day double headers with Legion Rider Greg Stimeling's Flags Flying as
part of the "Pause for the Pledge" at Brandywine HS between the double
header games last Saturday.
R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 7, Post 6 Patriots 6
R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 12, Post 6 Patriots 10: Both games featured lots of errors, walks and hits as the Aviators took two from the Patriots
Delvets - 10, Post 3 Redsox - 2: Matt Faulkner gets the win in 6 1/3 innings, Adam Darling and Johnnie Micheal hit 2 for 3 for to losers.
Post 3 Redsox 8, Delvets - 7: The split keeps both teams in the same spot in the standings.
Newark - 6, Post 25 Middletown - 3: Mike Johnson allowed one earned run in
five innings striking out four and walking two. Ryan Vietri relieved in the
sixth and despite loading the bases in the seventh on a walk and two errors was
able to work out of the inning for the save.
Andrew Bentley and Andrew Young each drove in a pair of runs for Newark. Alex Bentley, Alex Woods and Tyler Husfelt
each collected two hits as Newark had seven starters combining for 10 hits.
After an opening game loss, Newark has now won three in a row.
DE Post 1 - 4, Fox Post 2 - 3: Post 1 pounded out 10 hits including Kevin Flannagan's 2 doubles.
DE Post 1 - 6, Fox Post 2 - 4: The hit totals were as close as the score, but Post 1's Alex Riley and Matt
Loughead recorded doubles, Riley had two in the game.
VFW 3420- 6, Stahl Post 30 - 5: Dennis Massari (St. Elizabeth southpaw) kept the powerful Stahl Attack at bay
- he pitched 6 1/3 innings with 13 strike outs before Stahl mounted a comeback. David Hopkins (Newark)
got the save. Both Massari and Hopkins contributed batting - Massari had 3 hits and an RBI, Hopkins - 3 RBIs on 2 Hits.
Shawn Cowgill also had 2 hits and 2 rbi's, and Andrew Reynolds was 3 for 4. Pat Smith was 4 for 4 for Stahl Post
Dennis Massari is the same player that beat Salesianum two times
this past season for St. E's. He was focused and throwing darts the
entire game. Many of the sponsors from VFW Post 3420 were there to witness their
first win of the season and it certainly was an exciting day.
Post 28 Warriors - 10, Oak Grove Thunder [Elsmere] - 0 Oak Grove Thunder - 7, Post 28 - 4: A split in Dagsboro as Kyle Timmons pitched a 4 hitter in game 1.
