Thursday's Results

Post 6 Patriots - 6, Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 5 (8) [at Post 6]: Post 6 (1-2) finally prevailed over the Post 3 Red Sox (2-2) as darkness was closing in when Eric Sharff was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th to give the Patriots the walk-off win.

Post 6 had taken the lead in the 5th 3-2, but Milford tied the game in the 7th off reliever Chad Sturgeon, then scored two more in the 8th giving them a 5-3 lead. But Matt Parker stroked a double to left center with two on in the bottom of the 8th, tieing the game 5-5. Then Milford pitchers couldn't find the strike zone, and the third and fourth walk of the inning loaded the bases. Sharff's RBI HBP won the game.

Milford's Adam Darling and Tim Hopkins doubled, Steve Sharff, Matt Parker and Tyler Ruark doubled for the Pats.

Fox Post 2 - 9, Post 28 Warriors - 2: [at Post 28]: Fox Post 2 (3-0) continues to win as they travelled to Indian River HS and beat the Warriors (1-3) and Trevor Abbot 9-3. Post 28 is still trying to find their hitting as their players adjust to Legion Baseball although they did break through and score 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th.

Joe Diana won his 2nd game for Post 2, Greg Mckee was 2 for 2, with 5 RBIs in the game.

Newark Post 10 - 6, Post 1 - 4 [at Newark]: Jordan Oncay pitched a complete game for Newark (2-1) allowing 8 hits, striking out 7 and walking 2. Kevin O’Connor and Rob Mooney both tripled in the fourth to break open a scoreless game. Austin Bartley and Jordan Oncay both tripled in the fifth to put help put Newark up 6-0.

Alex Riley tripled in the sixth for Post 1 (2-2) and Matt Loughead singled scoring the first run for Post 1, Kevin Flanagan followed with a double to drive in the second run of the inning. Post 1 loaded the bases in the top of the 7th and pushed across two more runs before Oncay shut down the heart of the order to earn the win.

Delvets 8, Post 25 Middletown 2 [at Delvets]: The Post 25 Firehawks (1-3) put up 2 in the top of the first, but Delvets (2-2) pitcher Andrew Baczkowski settled down, while their bats exploded for 8 runs in the next 3 innings to put the game out of reach. Andrew Fortner doubled and tripled for Post 25, but they committed 3 errors while the Delvets pounded out 10 hits in the game. Baczkowski had 4 strikeouts in the complete game win.

Stahl Post 30 - 11, Oak Grove Thunder 4 [at Stahl]: Stahl (4-0) and Oak Grove (1-3) played almost even until the bottom of the 5th when Stahl scored 6 runs to put the game out of reach.  They also added another 2 runs in the 6th. Bryan Perkins (2-0) got the win for Post 30.

2B-OG Kyle Maloney SP Heath Johnson, Pat Smith and Zach Fortuna. Pat Smith had 3 hits and 2 rbi's.Heath Johnson and Zach Fortuna each had 2 rbi's and Alex Jeandell had 3 runs scored

R.C. Dupont Post 18 - 19, VFW Post 3420 - 1 [at Brandywine]: A wild game that featured a Grand Slam Home run called back because the batter passed a runner between first and second. The batter got a single and 3 RBI's.

Tuesday's Results

Stahl Post 30 - 9, R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 1: Stahl wins their 3rd game, as Kyle Hitchens pitched a complete game with 6k's.Zach Fortuna hit a RBI triple and Tyler Fortuna had 3 RBI's along with Brandon Payne who had 2 rbi's and a double.

Post 3 Red Sox - 9, Post 28 Warriors 5: The Sox overcame some early sloppy fielding and poured on the batting with 7 hits, including Matt Millman's 2 run homer, Hunter Whalen added a double, and Adam Darling batted 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs, until darkness halted the game after 5.  Millman was winning the game which will be completed the next time Post 28 and 3 meet in Milford.

DE Post 1 - 5, VFW Post 3420 - 4:
Post 1 recovers from Sunday's loss and gets an early lead in the game, but the VFW came back and made it close.

Oak Grove - 6,  Post 25 - 5:
Oak Grove Thunder breaks into the win column with a 6-5 win over the Firehawks at Everett Field in Smyrna.Pitchers: OG:  Joyce, Ciafre and Bourdon; MP25: Croft, Hoye, and Brower.WP: Joyce, LP: Croft, S: Ciafre
HR: Ford (MP25); 2B:McCarter, Maloney (OG)
Highlights: Oak Grove jumped out to a three-run lead in the fourth inning, then added two more in the fifth with key RBI’s off of the bats of Kyle Maloney and Sam Manelski.  Post 25 battled back in the sixth inning by scoring four runs, including a two-run shot over the left field wall by John Ford, tying the game at five. Oak Grove went on to score an unanswered run in the top of the seventh to seal the win.

Post 6 at Fox Post 2 - Postponed due to the first round game of the Carpenter Cup. Will be made up later in the schedule.
Delvets at Newark - Will be rescheduled.
