R.C. Dupont has been fielding a team in American. Legion Baseball since 1947.

The Post, named for famed Delware Aviator Richard C. Dupont, was chartered
after his death in 1945 . 

You can read a history on Mr Richard C. Dupont on the Delaware Aviation Hall of Fame Website.  He was inducted into the hall in 1992 and a history on him is on the team website

The team recruits players  from the Northeast corner of Delaware - Claymont, south to Wilmington

  • R.C. Dupont is one of the only teams in American Legion Baseball to feature triplets - Andrew, Evan and Michael Kreshtool.
  • The first state title was in 1950 with a team managed by Horace Dyer. Prominent players were noted Delaware Umpire Bobby Stevens and Nick Bucci.
  • The 1964 team, managed by Mr. Carl Lichenstein featured prominent players Ken Szotkiewicz (Detroit Tigers)and Tom Silicato (Philadelphia Phillies).
  • 1979 team was managed by Glenn Streevey and featured pitcher John Kurtz
  • 1982 team was managed by Charlie McHugh and featured prominent players Chip McHugh (Detroit Tigers), Jeff Bonsall (Pittsburgh Pirates), Billy Phillips (L.A. Dodgers) , Mike Land (Chicago Cubs), Robby Limmina (former Mt. Pleasant Manger and Widner College player), and Howard Zebley (former Columbia University standout).
  • 1985 and 1986 teams were managed by Don Kimsey with prominent players were Chris (Twins) and Jeff (Indians) Forgione
  • 1996 team managed by Steve Tiller (former R.C. DuPont player who played College baseball for Towson University and Wilmington College .Prominent player on that team was Steve Hershman of Wilmington College.
