Day 5 - Games Saturday at Wilson Field
Noon: Stahl Post 30 - 12, Post 10 Newark - 6:
Stahl wins the second quarter final game setting up the rematch with Fox Post
2. Andrew Bently homers for Post 10, Alex Jeandell for Stahl. Rob Mooney doubled for Post 10, Tyler Fortuna for Stahl.
Tyler
Fortuna gets the win in relief scattering 7 hits, and striking out 5.
Championship Game I: Fox Post 2 - 13, Stahl Post 30 - 3:
After the Delaware American Legion Baseball Scholarship winner Eric Husni (Accompanied
by his parents, and Team Manager Bill Alexander, and the Firehawk
Coaches, and escorted by National Alternate Department Executive
Committeeman Lyman Brenner, Department of DE 2nd Vice Commander Ken Whitman, and Post 25 Commander Charles Corkadel) was introduced to the crowd and threw out the first pitch, Fox Post 2 put on an offensive show.
Stahl scored first after D.J. Wood doubled, and scored after Gabe DeAscancis
reached base on an error. However Fox Post 2 scored a total of 8 runs
in the first, second, and sixth, and capped off their scoring with 5
runs in the bottom of the 8th to end the game early on the 10 run rule.
Fox pitcher Bobby Brown scattered 8 hits to get the
win, allowing only 3 runs, 2 of them earned. He struck out 3 and didn't
allow a walk in the game. Stahl Post 30' James Fallers came on in relief of Vinnie Latham
in the 6th and pitched well until the bottom of the 8th when he allowed
5 runs. Latham took the loss, giving up 8 runs, but had 5 strikeouts in
the game.
D.J. Wood, Brendon Fallers and Brandan Payne all doubled for Stahl Post 30. Tony Gatto hit a 2 run homer for Fox Post, scored twice and Doubled. Danny Gatto doubled in his brother, Joey Babuca also doubled, scored 3 times and had 3 RBI's. Bryce Marrow also doubled, scored 3 times, and had an RBI.
Day 4 - Games at Friday Wilson Field
Noon: Fox Post 2- 17, Post 25 Middletown Firehawks - 7 (7):
Under darkening skies, Fox Post 2 jumped on the Firehawks early and often, scoring runs in the first 4th, 5th and 6th innings.
Ethan Singleton Homered, tripled and doubled for Fox Post
2 driving in 5 runs but missed hitting for the cycle as his only other
times on base were the result of walks or errors. Elliot Gardner homered for the Firehawks and batted 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's.
Derrick Parker, Tony Gatto, and Danny Gatto all doubled for Post 2, Andrew Fortner for Post 25.
Zach Candelero (1-0) got the win for Fox, Jay Croft (0-1-1) took the loss for Middletown.
Fox Post 2 now goes on to play the winner of the game that was Rained Out between Stahl Post 30 and Post 10 Newark. The rained out game will be played
tomorrow at Noon, followed by a Championship round game at 4 PM between that winner and Fox Post
2.

Delaware State Tournament - Day 3:
Game 9: Wilson Field: Post 25 Middletown - 3, R.C. DuPont - 2:Well
pitched game, Ryan Haas has 11 Strikeouts in 7 innings, Jay Croft gets
the save with 4 K's in 2 innings of work. Greg Rostik and Mike Julian
double for R.C. DuPont. Middletown plays tomorrow at either 12 or 4
depending on the rest of today's games.
Game 10: Wilson Field: Newark Post 10 - 9, Post 28 Warriors - 2:
Derek Marshalsea pitches 6 innings of 2 hit ball, allowing just 2 runs.
Andrew Bentley hits a 2 run blast out near the scoreboard, Alex Woods,
Rob Mooney and Jeremy Varner all Double for Post 10.
Game 11: Wilson Field: Stahl Post 30 - 14, Fox Post 2 - 4: Stahl
Post 30 jumps on Fox Post early for 4 runs in the first and never give
up the lead. Fox scores 4 in the 2nd, but Stahl gets 2 more in the 4th
and 4 more in the 6th and 9th to pull away from the boys from Dover in
a 9 inning game that finished in twilight.
Delaware State Tournament - Day 2:
Game 6: Wilson Field: RC Dupont Post 18 - 18, DE Post 1 - 15: Longest game of the tourney
Game 7 - Wilson Field: Stahl Post 30 - 3, Post 25 Middletown - 1: Stahl comes back in the top of the 9th to beat the #1 seed in a well played game.
Game 8 - Wilson Field: Fox Post 2 - 21, Post 10 - 8 (7):Game called in 6th inning due to darkness. Newark comes back and scores 3 but can't close the gap.
Game 5 - Caravel Academy: Post 28 Warriors - 11, Delvets - 3: Post 28 plays tomorrow. Peter Ott hit two homers in the game, including a grand slam.
Day One Results:
Game 3: Wilson Field: Stahl Post 30 - 6, Post 28 Warriors 5: Brendon Fallers singles home D.J. Wood with the winning run in the bottom of the 9th.
