The Winners of each of the 3 divisions will automatically receive one of the top 3 seeds based on their respective point totals, The next five teams will be chose by overall points and seeded by total points earned.

We are re-working The 2012 Schedule due to Post 17's withdrawal from the League. New schedule will be up as soon as we get it done.

So you want to play American Legion Baseball?

If you want to play Legion Baseball in 2012, check out the team listing below or look for your home on the Official Recruiting Map. Then fill out and print a Player Indemnification Form (2) and bring it to your first Tryout. There are age restrictions (See Chart): A Player Must be born after 1993 and before 2000. A Delaware driver's license or any birth certificate is OK to prove age. You must live in the recruiting zone for the team (with certain exemptions.

Competition is tough - there are only 18 players per team, but every team in the league has the chance to play in the State Tournament, the Regionals, and the Legion World Series!

Tryouts: (you can also contact any team manager using the team list below)
  • R.C. Dupont Post 18 - Tryouts/Practice  May 20 th  - 9 am at Dyer Field aka Brandywine Little League
  • Post 10 Generals - Sunday May 20, 2012 - Same time, Same Place contact  Kevin Green
  • Post 28 Warriors - May 19th and 26th at 4:00pm at IRHS - contact Don Clauss, Sr. 302-864-7651 

Post 10 and The Christiana Generals have merged into one team - playing under the same sponsorship although O'Brien Post 10 will serve as the team's official American Legion sponsor. Contact Kevin Green if you are interested in playing

Thanks to Post 10 and The Generals for stepping up to give last year's kids a team in North Central Delaware.

Post 17 has withdrawn from the League for 2012 - Players will be able to sign up for Post 28's team and play there this year.

The Francis J. Lucia, Jr. Team Sportsmanship Award
Given to the Delaware American Legion Baseball team in the State Tournament exhibiting the principles outlined in our Code of Sportsmanship (below). Both the team and sponsoring post/organization will be given a trophy to commemorate their achievement. Francis J. Lucia, Jr. was a long time supporter and participant in Delaware American Legion Baseball and was Chairman of the league in the 1980's.

Delaware American Legion Baseball Scholarship

The American Legion Baseball Scholarship is an annual award by the National American Legion Americanism Commission to a baseball player in each department who demonstrates outstanding leadership, scholarship, character and citizenship, and who has a demonstrated need for funding to continue their education beyond high school. Players are nominated by their respective team managers in June, and the winner is selected by the Department Baseball Committee each July.
